Holding Your Child For A Haircut

Having a toddler can be extremely challenging. It is a real struggle for sure to quench the thirst of exploring eyes and hands waving here and there to grab the very thing that comes to their reach.
Well, parenting is fun and we surely not going to frame it in anything that scares you out, however, handling a child for a Haircut is a serious problem as it holds risk of injuries too.

We are listing down 5 ways to help you out managing this challenge:
1. Try to trim down hair as soon as you see them growing
It will be easier to handle half grown hair rather than a head of full grown hair. This will lessen the traumatic time to endure by your child as well.

2. Take your child for a haircut only when he or she is well slept and well fed
Hunger and sleepiness, both will result in a cranky mood which can make the situation more terrible to handle.

3. Give your child time to get acquainted with the environment of the salon
Placing him or her straight on the chair as you reach can scare your child which can lead to a great deal of resentment. Familiarity with the environment will help your child to get settle down and thus reduces the chance of any dreadful reaction.

4. Make it fun rather than a struggle
Take elder siblings or your spouse along to help you with playing with your child. One can engage the child while other can assist the stylist in handling. Favorite toys and other such stuff can also be helpful.

5. Try not to allow the stylist to put the cutting apron on your child
The fear of ‘something is happening to me’ is likely to rise if child is made to get ready for it.

Besides all of these, always remember that the day you decided to take your child for a haircut is not the last for that matter. Children often are horrified by certain things and later it stays with them for nobody knows how long.
