Your Toddler At 2 Years 6 Months

Your little baby is growing smoothly and just hit the 2 years and 6 months milestone, so congratulations. To understand the growth of a baby, experts have divided the age into the milestones and there are certain developments that your child might be having, so it is better to know what to expect beforehand. Here we have some of the important milestones that a baby of 2 years and 6 months will likely to have. Have a look:

Weight and height
The toddler will gain more weight and height as he grows older. At the age of 2 years and 6 months, a normal baby boy would have 27.8 pounds to 32.2 pounds and the height would be 35.0 inches to 37.0 inches. As for girl baby, she would have 26.7 pounds to 31.1 pounds and the height would be 34.6 inches to 36.6 inches.

Baby’s milestone
At this age, your toddler will start to speak 3 or 4 words sentences and it will be 50 % understandable. They are able to know the pronouns like I, me, you and use them in their sentences. They can question you where you are going or ‘what it is’ type of questions. At this age, they are most likely to develop cognitive abilities to know if something is funny or not. They also get to know the singular and plural things.

Baby’s health & nutrition
Two and a half year child is still a small baby and he or she will need all their basic nutrition including cereals, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, and meat. Be sure to check in with their preferences and give them what they want. At this age, the children don’t always eat on time so don’t make a big thing if they don’t eat when you would like them to. Make sure you cut everything in little pieces so that they wouldn’t swallow it as a whole.

Suggestion on the activities
• As for the development, they will be doing a lot of physical activities, but they might need a little help for that. For instance, they will be needing you to dress up, help them brush their teeth and need some assistance while hand washing.
• Some kids won’t be able to speak the words clearly, so read with them and talk about the pictures in the books.
• At this age, the kids need your full attention, so try to give them some personal time.
• Kids love to play with toys and in the playground, make sure you give them the means to enjoy their time like 2 years and 6 months old baby.
